What are your aspirations for the club this year?

During the quarantine, we’ve made quite a few improvements around the clubhouse. I want to see new and existing members take full advantage of the resources available through the club.

How long have you been licensed?

7 years

How long have you been a JARC member?

7 years

How long have you been a JARC officer? 

This is my 4th year on the Board of Directors

What radios do you use?  

  • Mobile: Icom IC-7000
  • HF: Icom IC-7300
  • HT: Yaesu FT-70D

What was your first radio?

Baofeng UV-5R was my first VHF/UHF radio and my first HF radio was a Yaesu FT-1000MP

Favorite HF antenna style?

Sky Loop and DX Commander All-Band Vertical

Where are some places that you operate?

At home, my parent’s house in Slidell, and various parks.

When logging QSOs, which software do you use?

I like DX Labs and N1MM+.

What are some of your favorite ham radio activities?

Contesting, DX, antenna building, and working with the VEC. I also like working with SDR technology, computers, and general electronics.

What are some other non-ham radio hobbies or activities of yours?

Hunting and fishing

What’s your profession?

I’m a software sales engineer.

I’ve worked previously as an engineering technician, high school teacher, and IT network security analyst.

Any Family Members in the Hobby?

My wife Robin, K5RKM.

Who’s someone in the Club that you admire?

Brian, KG5GJT!

Where can you typically be found on the air?

On the club’s 444.000MHz FM repeater and on HF on 40 meters, 20 meters, and 15 meters both SSB and FT8.
