The Jefferson Amateur Radio Club (JARC) is proud to announce that we have transitioned to using examtools.org’s internet-based testing platform for our Volunteer Examiner Coordination (VEC) exams. As a founding VEC, JARC has always been committed to providing top-notch testing services to our members and the wider amateur radio community. Our transition to internet-based testing is the latest step in this ongoing commitment.

The first reason for our transition to internet-based testing is the convenience it offers. With examtools.org, we can now offer exams on PC, Mac, and tablets, making it easier for our test-takers to get licensed. And, while the testing is done online, we still host the exams in-person at our clubhouse, so our test-takers can receive the hands-on assistance they need.

The second reason for our transition to internet-based testing is the speed it offers. With examtools.org, we can continue to submit results directly to the FCC. Test-takers at JARC VEC receive their licenses more quickly and start using their radios right away.

The third reason for our transition to internet-based testing is the accuracy it provides. With examtools.org, paper test grading is performed by three volunteer examiners (VEs), who use the system to eliminate human error and ensure the accuracy of each exam. This level of accuracy is especially important in ensuring that our members receive the correct license class and are able to operate their radios safely and effectively.

In conclusion, the Jefferson Amateur Radio Club is thrilled to be using examtools.org for our Volunteer Examiner Coordination exams. We believe this transition will make our testing process faster, more accurate, and more convenient for our members. If you are interested in getting licensed or upgrading your license, we encourage you to attend one of our upcoming VEC sessions and take advantage of this new testing platform.
