In April and May 2021, JARC members successfully installed five new antennas, new supporting structures such as pulleys, tested associated hard lines and connections, and removed older equipment.

Thanks to Natalie, KI5CTQ, for capturing these great pictures of Nick, W4NDF climbing the tower!

A future climb will be scheduled to remove an old, no longer used antenna, to install a Ubiquiti antenna system to extend internet capabilities to the D-STAR gateway, and to make improvements to the Inverted V antenna.

Jefferson Amateur Radio Club thanks T-Mobile for working with the club to shut down cell transmissions on the tower so climbers could safely pass by the cellular antennas.

The project couldn’t be completed without the hours of planning and safe execution by the following members:

Chip, KG5LQ
Chris, W5CMM
Chuck, NO5W
Doug, WF5O
Greg, K5DEU
Kostas, KA5UIT
Mike, KB5OZE
Natalie, Kl5CTQ
Nick, W4NDF
