JEFFERSON ARC - W5GAD
“All-the-Way-in-a-Day”
Technician Class
The
Jefferson Amateur Radio Club (JARC) is hosting a FREE “All-the-Way-in-a-Day” Amateur
Radio Technician license refresher class and FCC Technician
License exam. After Pre-registration for the class we will email
you a Study-Guide that includes the pool of all questions and
answers for the exam to study with Websites where you can take
free Practice exams. The day will begin with instructor guided
introductions followed by a refresher presentation of all the
questions and answers from the Study-Guide. There will be class
breaks including lunch. At the end of the presentation you
will have the opportunity to take the FCC Technician license
class exam.
- First, you must Register
to obtain a FCC Registration Number (FRN) with the FCC by clicking https://apps.fcc.gov/cores/userLogin.do. To establish a Username account at FCC (CORES), click the
“Register” link button under “Need a Username?”.
You must follow the instructions to enter your own
Personal Email address (Not
a shared one), password and
other data. This information is saved by the FCC for your
license exam and record. There is no Fee to create this
account.
- Second, you must Register with
HamStudy to
reserve a class seat and to receive a link to the
Study Guide that will be available to you when we
confirm that you are registered by clicking here. You must bring a copy of this registration form
containing your FRN and PIN code. It is good only for the
date of this class.
- Start
studying for your new
Technician License at Ham Stydy .org/ that offers Guides and Practice tests. This
is a great place to begin, but there are also other free
websites in the Study Guide with different learning
approaches. We recommend reading the Study Guide first to
study all of the questions and answers before you begin the
Practice Tests. Don’t be intimidated since
this is not meant to be a full instructional theory course.
You can learn more once you get your first license, but
having a good memory with the Questions and Answers is key! Once you are passing the practice tests
with an average score of 85 to 90% or better
prior to the class, you are
ready!
