NASA Stennis Space Center and INFINITY Science Center Tour

The Jefferson Amateur Radio Club is scheduling a Simplex road trip to the NASA Stennis Space Center on Saturday, July 29, 2017.  We are calling it a Simplex road trip because we plan to communicate mobile to mobile during the trip using a VHF/UHF simplex frequency. So be sure to bring a VHF/UHF radio with you so that you can check into the JARC VHF/UHF “Net on Wheels”.

Join us for an exciting and educational day trip to where the fun begins at the NASA Stennis Space Center.  For an exciting preview of the INFINITY Science Center Museum, click here.

For those of you interested in traveling as a group we will meet at the JARC clubhouse at 8:45 am where we will begin our carpool and caravan to the INFINITY Space Center. If however, you prefer meeting the rest of the group at the Space Center please plan to be there by 10:00 am since it is required by the Space Center that we check in with valid IDs by 10:30 am for the bus tour which begins at 11:00 am. The bus tour is a one hour guided, behind the scenes, tour of the Stennis Space Center after which we can have lunch at the Infinity Cafe or you can bring lunch and picnic on the grounds.  After lunch the museum will be available for self-guided touring at our leisure, which normally requires about two hours to view all of the exhibits. Everyone is welcome to bring friends, kids, or significant others for a fun filled day.

If we can get 20 people signed up the entrance fee for each person will be $7.00.  Otherwise the fee will be $12.00 (Senior 55+), $15.00 (Adults 14-54), $8.00 (Kids 4-13), and children under 4 are free. If you are interested in making the trip please click here to sign up by Monday July 10th.

For lunch, if we can get a group of 20 together it can be pre-ordered. To view the food choices available at the INFINITY Café, click here. Once we have a count of the number of people that will be going an email will be sent to you regarding lunch.

I hope everyone can make it!!   It will be Spacetacular!!
