JARC member wins Youth DX Adventure Essay Contest!

Bryant, KG5HVO, the youngest member of the Jefferson Amateur Radio Club wins the 2017 Youth DX Adventure Essay Contest. The Award includes a complete HF Station and a trip to Costa Rica to participate in the Young DX Adventure later this year. Standing with Bryant are JARC Executive Board members: Don WA5W, Jerry N5GKJ, Todd KD4YHY who presented the award, Bryant KG5HVO, Jim N5HZ and Chuck NO5W.

Bryant is a regular at the club operating at Open House Sessions, Contests and Special Events. He has several Elmers at the club who have assisted him in his ham radio activities.

The Dave Kalter Youth DX Adventure (YDXA) offered a complete Ham Station to the Essay Contest winner. Paul Ewing, N6PSE one of the co-founders of the award, donated the station.

Eligibility for the award was limited to Technician class or higher US licensees 12 to 18 years old. Todd DuBon, KD4YHY presented the award on behalf of the YDXA at the JARC January Membership meeting.
