JARC members activated The National WWII Museum’s PT-305 for Museum Ships Weekend. The PT-305 is a fully restored PT Boat called “Sudden Jerk” that saw action in the European Theater during WWII. One hundred and six museum ships participated in this international Amateur Radio event.
JARC members made approximately 450 contacts to 37 states and 2 Canadian provinces. Several contacts were made with other Museum Ships and a significant number of WWII veterans. Over 20 members participated in the event.
This inaugural event with the WWII Museum was a big success. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to get on the air, observe the PT-305 in operation and close up.
The club produced a full-color collectible QSL for the event.
